How to download files
If you have never downloaded a file, you may find the following example helpful. Even though the Evaluation Version of Abykus is downloaded, the steps described in this example apply to most other files. *
Step 1) Get your computer ready to download a file:
- Locate an existing folder (or create a new one) to put the downloaded in.
- If you need to create a new folder, you can do it by opening the Windows Explorer and click on the File, New, and Folder option. You will also need to rename it to something that makes sense, which is done by right-clicking on the new folder and selecting the Rename option. (Name it something like AbykusEV20.)
Step 2) Download the file:
- To download the Evaluation Version, click on the file's download link.
- From the dialog box that appears, click the Save button. This action displays a second dialog box used to set the destination folder (i.e. folder you created in Step 1). Use the Save in: option at the top of the dialog box to do this.
- Finally, click the Save button located near the bottom of the dialog box to initiate the download process.
Step 3) Unzip (extract) the contents of the downloaded file:
- Using the Windows Explorer, locate the file you downloaded in Step 2. (It should be AbykusEVsetup.exe and it should be located in the folder you created.) Double click on this file and click the Run button to begin the extraction process.
- In the Dialog box that appears, locate the folder you want to place the extracted files in. (Unfortunately, it doesn't default to the folder you downloaded to.) Use the Browse button to set this target folder, which in this case should be the folder you created in Step 1.)
- Finally, click the Unzip button to extract the files.
Step 4) Start Abykus:
- From the folder you extracted the file to in Step 3, locate the AbykusEV.exe file (or AbykusCE.exe if you're installing the Commercial Edition). Double click on this file to start the spreadsheet.
- If you like, you can create a Shortcut to the to AbykusEV.exe file and move it to your Desktop.
